THE 50 GREATEST METAL FRONT-MEN OF ALL TIME! (Roadrunner Version)
In the latest issue of Metal Edge Magazine, writers Adrien Begrand, Brett Callwood, Leonard Pierce, Bryan Reesman and Jeff Treppel (with an editors note by Phil Freeman) took on the extensive task of listing the top 50 greatest front-men in metal. With elaborations on the top 25, they list some of the best. So why are we writing about it? Because we disagree with a ton of it! Rob Zombie was the front-man of legendary White Zombie… but we all know his lyrics left something to be desired. Do you really think he is worthy of top ten recognition? Sully Erna is the lead man for the pop act Godsmack, is he really better than Tim “Ripper” Owens? (Judas Priest, Iced Earth).
That being said, Roadrunner Records Senior Director of A&R Mike Gitter, Director of Publicity Amy Sciarretto, Tour Coordinator Justin D'Angelo and New Media Content Editor Sam Roon decided to take it upon themselves to sit down and compile what they think is a very accurate list of the top 50 front-men in metal. The team took a special liberty that should be noted. In the many hours of discussion, they came across several people who were more the front-men of their bands than the lead singer. You will see that this was taken into consideration and the true greatest front-men of metal are listed here.
As you may have already guessed, there’s a catch! The team purposely left out every Roadrunner Records artists from this list, including any bands signed to Roadrunner internationally. This was a daunting task because besides being slightly bias through our work, the team genuinely loves a lot of these front-men and really felt they should be on this list. Never the less they persevered and you are about to read what is a very accurate list of the 50 greatest front-men in metal.
Compare our list to the Metal Edge list… Let us know what you think!

SEPULTURA: 'We've Lost You' Video
"We've Lost You", the new video from Brazilian/American thrashers SEPULTURA, can be viewed below. The clip was filmed on December 15, 2008 in São Paulo, Brazil with director André Moraes. Check out photos from the video shoot at this location. A few of the pictures can also be viewed below.
"A-Lex" — SEPULTURA's first LP to be recorded without either of the founding Cavalera brothers (Max and Igor; on guitar/vocals and drums, respectively) — sold around 1,600 copies during its first week of release in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
SEPULTURA's previous CD, "Dante XXI", has sold 19,000 copies in the United States since its March 2006 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
"A-Lex" (which stands for "no law" or "without law") is available in three versions: in a deluxe digipak with an embossed cover, in a regular jewel case and on a vinyl gatefold LP.
On "A-Lex", SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser and his three colleagues, Derrick Green (vocals), Paulo Jr. (bass) and new addition Jean Dollabella (drums), have dedicated themselves to Anthony Burgess's book "A Clockwork Orange", creating an awesome thrash metal opus around this timeless and exciting subject.
The material was produced by SEPULTURA and Stanley Soares at the Trama Studios in Sao Paulo and mastered by George Marino at New York's Sterling Sound studios. "A-Lex" is the first SEPULTURA album to feature new drummer Jean Dolabella, who joined the fold during the "Dante XXI" tour.
Limp Bizkit Reuniting For Tour, Album
Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
Dormant for eight years, the original lineup of Limp Bizkit is reuniting for a tour and new album, according to a statement from Interscope Records.
Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, John Otto and DJ Lethal were last active in the fall of 2001, after which Borland left the band to focus on his own music. Borland rejoined for the 2004 EP "The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1)," but left again shortly thereafter.
Limp Bizkit has essentially been on hiatus since then, with Durst devoting his energies to directing and acting in film.
Although all dates are not yet confirmed, the band will play international festivals this spring, including shows in Eastern Europe, as well as Germany's Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park festivals.
Limp Bizkit was one of the most popular rock bands in the world in the late 1990s and early 200s, despite widespread critical drubbing. Its first three albums have sold in excess of 20 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Pearl Jam - All or None
And I'm starting to believe
That this hopeless... situation
Is what I'm trying to achieve
But I try
To run on
Towards
All or none,... all or none
Here's the selfless confession
Leading me back to war
Can we help that,.. our destinations
Are the ones we've been before
I still try
To run on
Towards all
Or none,... all or none
To myself i... surrender
To the one I'll never please
I still try,.. to run on
But I still try,.. to run on
But it's
All or none,... all or none.
Pearl Jam - 1/2 Full
Floating out on the sea
Far from lights of a city
The elements they speak to me
Whispering that life
Existed long before breed
Balancing the world
On it's knee
Don't see some men as 1/2 empty
See them 1/2 full of shit
Thinking that we're all but slaves
There's ain't gonna be
No middle anymore
It's been said before
The haves be having more
Yet still bored
Won't someone save?
Won't someone save
The world?
Pearl Jam - Bushleaguer
This is such a happening tailpipe of a party.
Like sugar, the guests are so refined, (look like melting mice)
A confidence man, but why so beleagued?
He's not a leader, he's a texas leaguer
Swinging for the fence, got lucky with a strike
Drilling for fear, makes the job simple
Born on third, thinks he got a triple
Blackout weaves it's way through the cities
Blackout weaves it's way through the cities
Blackout weaves it's way,...
I remember when you sang
That song about today
Now it's tomorrow and
Everything has changed
A think tank of aloof multiplication
A nicotine wish and a colossus decanter
Retrenchment and foolishness
What's the buckos?
The raves have not a clue
The immenseness of suffering
And the odd negotiation, a rarity
With onionskin plausibility of life,
And a keyboard reaffirmation
Blackout weaves it's way through the cities
Blackout weaves it's way through the cities
Blackout weaves it's way,...
I remember when you sang
That song about today
Now it's tomorrow and
Everything has changed
Pearl Jam - Help Help
This suits too good to be true
My dear
Tell me lies
Tell me lies, tell me
Tell me lies, tell me
Help me
Storybook keeps from hurting me
You see
Shell of the man from the sea
Tell me lies
Tell me lies, tell me
Tell me lies, tell me
Tell me why
Tell me why, tell me
Tell me why, tell me
Tell me lies,...
Help me
Reservoir
Of hate and fear
Invisible
In repair
A hundred theives
Cast a spell
This is hell
Help me
The man they call my enemy, I've seen his eyes
He looks just like me, a mirror
The more you read, we've been deceived
Everyday it becomes clearer,...
Clearer.
Not my enemy,.. no, not my enemy,..
Don't speak for me. no, not my enemy.
Pearl Jam - Green Disease
It emminates from their being
Agitation,.. with occupation
And like weeds,.. with big leaves
Stealing light from what's beneath
Where they have more,...
Still they take more
Course I know,.. then I don't
There's a stoway with my throat
It's deceiving
I don't believe him
We can scream,.. out our doors
Behind the wall a fat man snores
In his dreams he's,...
Choking on leaves
Well I guess
There's nothing wrong with what you say
Believe me
Just asking you to sway
No white
Or black
Just grey
Can you feel this,..
World with your heart and not your brain?
Pearl Jam - You Are
words: Matt Cameron / Eddie Vedder
music: Matt Cameron
THIS BROKEN WHEEL IS COMING UNDONE
AND THE ROADS EXPLODING
BUT YOU'RE KEEPING ME STRONG
ROLLING ALONG WITH YOU,...
LOVE IS A TOWER
AND YOU'RE THE KEY
LEADING ME HIGHER
WHEN YOU LET ME IN
KEEPING US CLOSE,.... SO CLOSE
ON DOWN THE LIME
SOMETHIMES I BURN LIKE A DOT ON THE SUN
WITH NO ONE KNOWING
BUT YOU'RE KEEPING ME STRONG
MOVING ALONG WITH YOU
YOU ARE A TOWER OF
STRENGTH TO ME
THE DARKENING HOUR
SEES LIGHT AGAIN
ooh wah,... ooh wah,.. ooh wah,.. ooh wah,.. ooh wah.
ooh wah,... ooh wah,.. you are,.. you are,..
LOVE IS A TOVER
OF STRENGTH TO ME
I AM THE SHORELINE
BUT YOU'RE THE SEA.
YOU ARE.
Pearl Jam - Get Right
I'm searching the haystacks, water is sunshine, wait for the moment
The moment between us, the fire is made now, hot to the touch
I wanted to get right
I wanted to get right
I wanted to get right with you
Bakers dozen parades, stand and debate
Out single file, nine in a row, swear if you must
Keeping your boots on, float with the now, hot to the touch
Concrete underground, cast out everyday, the dregs of society
Underbelly, inside of me, rejoice and follow thee
I wanted to get right
I wanted to get right
I wanted to get right with it, with you
With... you...
Yeah
I wanted to get right
I wanted to get right
I wanted to get right
Pearl Jam - I Am Mine
Faith in their hope and to buy themselves time.
Me, I figure as each breath goes by,
I only own my mind.
The north is to south what the clock is to time.
There's east and there's west and there everywhere life.
I know that I was born and I know that I'll die.
The in between is mine. I am mine.
And the feeling it gets left behind...
Oh the innocence broken with time...
We're different behind the eyes, there's no need to hide.
We're safe tonight.
The ocean is full cause everyone's crying,
The full moon is looking for friends at high tide.
The sorrow grows bigger when the sorrows denied.
I only know my mind. I am mine.
And the feeling it gets left behind...
Oh the innocence broken with time.
We're different between the lines, there's no need to hide...
Cause we're safe tonight.
And the feeling it gets left behind...
Oh the innocence broken with time.
We're different behind the eyes, there's no need to hide.
And the feeling it gets left behind...
Oh the innocence broken with lies.
We're different behind the eyes.
We're safe tonight.
Pearl Jam - Thumbing My Way
I'm thumbing my way back to heaven
Counting steps, walking backwards on the road
I'm counting my way back to heaven
I can't be free with what's locked inside of me
If there was a key, you took it in your hand
There's no wrong or right, but I'm sure there's good and bad
The questions linger overhead
No matter how cold the winter, there's a springtime ahead
I'm thumbing my way back to heaven
I wish that I could hold you
I wish that I had
Thinking 'bout heaven
I let go of a rope, thinking that's what held me back
And in time I've realized, it's now wrapped around my neck
I can't see what's next, from this lonely overpass
Hang my head and count my steps, as another car goes past
All the rusted signs we ignore throughout our lives
Choosing the shiny ones instead
I turned my back, now there's no turning back
No matter how cold the winter, there's a springtime ahead
I smile, but who am I kidding?
I'm just walking the miles, every once in a while I'll get a ride
I'm thumbing my way back to heaven
Thumbing my way back to heaven
I'm thumbing my way back to heaven...
Pearl Jam - Ghost
Packing in and overgrown
Love is deep,... dig it out
Standing in a hole alone
Working for something,.. that we can never hold
A place in the clouds.
Your place to hide oh my oh
I'm flying away, away
I'm driving away, away
The tv, she talks to me
Breaking news and building walls
Selling us, what I don't need
Didn't know soap made you taller
So I'm riding away, away
Hiding away, away
So much talk it makes no sense at all
So I'm flying away, away
Driving away, away
Passing old friends I don't miss at all
It doesn't hurt,.. when I bleed
But memories they eat me
I've seen it all before,..
Bring it on cause I'm no victim
Dying
Dying
Pearl Jam - Cropduster
Every life is falling down
Brown to black, it's coming back
Dies to be part of the ground
Seed to seedling, root to stem
Eyes, no eyes, there's no difference,...
Every life is looking in
Swallowing seeds on the deathbed,...
Dig a hole in,... the garden.
Everyone is practicing,...
But this world's an accident.
I was the fool because I thought
I thought the world
Turns out the world thought me
It's all the other way round
We're upside down
Daddy's gone up flames,..
But this ain't no movie
This ain't no book you can close
When the big lie hits your eye.
Everybody's practicing,....
Our world's an accident
I was the fool because I thought
Let the fluence sat it down.
There's an upside of down.
The moon is rolling round the world.
Pearl Jam - Love Boat Captain
First comes love, then comes pain. let the games begin,...
Questions rise and answers fall,... insurmountable.
Love boat captain
Take the reigns and steer us towards the clear,... here.
It's already been sung, but it can't be said enough.
All you need is love
Is this just another phase? earthquakes making waves,...
Trying to shake the cancer off? stupid human beings,...
Once you hold the hand of love,.. it's all surmountable.
Hold me, and make it the truth,...
That when all is lost there will be you,...
Cause to the universe I don't mean a thing
And there's just one word I still believe
And it's
It's an art to live with pain,... mix the light into grey,..
Lost 9 friends we'll never know,.. 2 years ago today
And if our lives became too long, would it add to our regret?
And the young, they can lose hope cause they can't see beyond today,...
The wisdom that the old can't give away
Hey,...
Constant recoil...
Sometimes life
Don't leave you alone.
Hold me, and make it the truth,...
That when all is lost there will be you.
Cause to the universe I don't mean a thing
And there's just one word that I still believe and it's
Love,... love. love. love. love.
Love boat captain
Take the reigns,.. steer us towards the clear.
I know it's already been sung,... can't be said enough.
Love is all you need,.. all you need is love,..
Love,.. love,...
Love.
Pearl Jam - Save You
Feeling cocky and strong,.. can't let you go,...
Too important to me
Too important to us,... we'd be lost without you
Baby, let yourself fall,... I'm right below you now
And fuck me if I say something you don't wanna hear
And fuck if you only hear what you wanna hear
Fuck me if I care,... but I'm not leaving here
You helped me when I was down,... I'll help when you're down
Why are you hitting yourself,... c'mon hit me instead
Let's pick up your will,... it's grown fat and lazy
I'm sympathetic as well,... don't go on me now
And I'm not living this life without you, I'm selfist and clear
And you're not leaving here without me, I don't wanna be without
My best friend,... wake up to see you could have it all
Cause there is but you,... and something within you
It's taken control,.. let's beat it, get up let's go
Oh you're in your own world, let's see the whole world
Let's pick up your soul
And f**k me if I say something you don't wanna hear
And f**k me if you only hear the treble in your head
Please help,... me,... to help you,... help yourself
Help me help yourself,... please want me to,... please let me to
Help you
Pearl Jam - Can't Keep
I wanna wind out
I wanna leave
This mind and shout
I've lived
All this life
Like an ocean
In disguise
I don't live for
Ever
You can't keep
Me here
I wanna race
With the sundown
I want a last breath
Forgive
Every being
The bad feelings
It's just me
I won't wait
For answers
You can't keep
Me here
I wanna rise
And say goodnight
Wanna take
A look on the other side
I've lived
All those lives
It's been wonder
Full at night
I will live for
Ever
You can't keep
Me here
Disturbed Postpone UK Tour
Disturbed have been forced to postpone their upcoming UK tour dates.
Singer David Draiman has suffered a recurrence of the severe inflammation of the vocal chords that also cancelled the group’s trek to Britain last year.
A statement from the band said: “Having returned to the live arena too soon after his last vocal problems, recent dates of Disturbed's North American tour have taken their toll on Draiman's voice and he has been advised to take an extended break to ensure a complete recovery.”
All of Disturbed’s upcoming European dates have now been rescheduled for September.
The UK tour will now run:
Newcastle Academy (September 29)
Glasgow Barrowlands (30)
Manchester Academy (October 2)
Nottingham Rock City (4)
Birmingham Academy (6)
Liverpool Academy (7)
London Astoria (9)
Tickets for the original dates will remain valid for the rearranged tour and Nevermore will remain on the tour as special guests.

COLLECTIVE SOUL IN STUDIO WORKING ON NEW ALBUM
NEW YORK, NY- February 17, 2009 - Multi-Platinum rockers Collective Soul, who recently signed a worldwide deal with Loud & Proud Records/Roadrunner Records, have begun work on their 8th studio release, the first release for the label. The band has been hard at work in frontman Ed Roland’s lake house studio for the past few weeks, working on the follow up to 2007’s Afterwords. Renowned for their ability to write supremely crafted smash hits, the band is wasting no time in creating a new batch of tunes fit to replicate all of their past successes. The band are currently featured on the multi platinum selling soundtrack for Twilight. ‘Tremble For My Beloved’ from the album Dosage is also featured in the film.
Roland says, “We are only 2 weeks in to the recording of our new album and feel more like a band than ever. It’s reflected in the music, which we all think is our best material to date.”
No strangers to charitable initiatives, Collective Soul is confirmed to headline a special benefit concert for the Save Darfur Coalition, a global organization that represents 130 million people worldwide who have united together to help the victims of Darfur. The concert will take place on Friday, March 27th at the Tabernacle in Atlanta.
In discussing the benefit concert, Roland notes, “As the atrocities continue in Darfur, Collective Soul are honored to lend our voices, along with the youth of Atlanta, to something we feel very strongly about. We continue to educate not only ourselves but the community.”
Globally known for mega-hits such as “Shine,” “December” and “The World I Know,” Collective Soul hails from Atlanta, GA and has produced 7 #1 singles and sold over 10 million records. The band broke into mainstream popularity with their 1993 debut album Hints, Allegations, and Things Left Unsaid. The group’s self-titled second album arrived the following year and logged a 76-week run on the Billboard Top 200. 1999’s critically acclaimed Dosage saw Collective Soul further its run as rock radio superstars. The first single "Heavy" set a new high mark for 15-weeks at #1 on the Mainstream Rock chart. “Tremble For My Beloved” also appears on the gold-certified soundtrack for the hit film Twilight.
The new album is expected summer 2009.
Slipknot Still Angry Over Battle With Game for Number One: “This Was Our Time”
Slipknot, the Iowa-based nine-piece masked metal band entering its tenth year on the national stage, has just been announced as one of the headliners of Columbus, Ohio’s Rock on the Range Festival. The third annual fest — which also features Motley Crue, Alice in Chains and Korn — goes down May 17th and 18th. But right now, Slipknot are in the midst of their biggest American tour to date, including a massive gig at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The arena tour — with Coheed and Cambria and Trivium in tow — comes on the heels of last year’s All Hope is Gone, the band’s first Number One album, a victory that almost didn’t happen.
Initial reports from SoundScan put rapper the Game’s LAX in the top spot by a margin of 13 albums, but after a recount the positions were reversed, with Slipknot taking it by over 1,100 units. And it’s a near-slight that still drives the band nuts, even six months later.
“Any time we get something, it’s almost like we had to steal the fucking thing,” frontman Corey Taylor tells Rolling Stone. “We had to fight for that, in true Slipknot fashion. They didn’t want to just fucking respect us and wait until all the fucking numbers were in. They were like, ‘No, you didn’t have it — you got beat by 13 CDs.’ We’ve come so fucking close so many goddamn times, and this was our time.”
Percussionist and band mastermind Shawn “Clown” Crahan is still plenty hacked off that the band he created came so close to having its moment in the sun taken away. “This is no disrespect to the Game, we don’t know him, and it could have been anyone, but they’re upset that they lost?” he said. “You want to talk about upset, you want to talk about disrespect for sacrifice? Everyone has tried to keep our ideas, our dreams, our art, down, and there was no reason for that, because our art is love, too.”
For Taylor, taking the top spot is the ultimate middle finger to an industry he feels holds his band in disdain, and the victory and continued success is only made sweeter by the odds his band has overcome.
“I truly believe that every time we win, it just makes so many people angry,” he said. “Right out of the gate, we should not have been successful. We were a nine-piece metal band from Iowa wearing masks and doing this insane shit, but we were talented and we were lucky, and we went out and built this following. For us, this is a legacy.”
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE IN STUDIO UPDATE & PHOTOS!
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE IN STUDIO UPDATE & PHOTOS!
It has been a long time since I used 2" tape to record. As a matter of fact, I believe the last time was in 1996! But this is the way Producer, Brendan O'Brien operates .... OLD SKOOL. In January we all packed up and headed to Atlanta to record drums. The process went fairly smooth, drums were finished in a week and we were able to hang with our bros in Mastodon. Needless to say, many a drunken night was had and it was my distinct privilege to be thrown up on by my buddy Brent. A memory I will never, ever forget.
After much discussions, we decided to move everything back north for guitar and bass duties. At this point Zing Studios in Westfield, MA is like a second home to us. Fast forward a week later (after finishing some guitar rhythm tracks) and I step in for Bass recording. Fun stuff ... it felt like old times with Adam D at the helm of the Pro Tools rig. I finished up the last few bass fixes on Super Bowl Sunday at Adam D's home studio. Beers were flowing HEAVY for sure. Whew, what a relief to be done with my tracks. With the pressure off, it is now time for me to amerce myself in designing the layout for this record.
Currently, Howard is in Atlanta working with Brendon and Adam on vocals. It shouldn't be too much longer now.
Thanks for the support.

Elsehwere on the CD, the cybernetic stomp of "Hypure" and "You Am I" bludgeon, bruise and break with precise grooves, while the staccato riffs on "Terminal" crush through an unmistakable guitar tone. Guitarist Koichi Fukuda blazes through incendiary solos, while Tony Campos bolts down demonic bass lines and Nick Oshiro pounds out deadly rhythms. Wayne Static riffs pure violence and screams out his soul.
A song you may already be familiar with is "Lunatic" as it was included on the "Punisher: War Zone" movie soundtrack. Although "Lunatic" is relentless and raw, brandishing a ripping groove and an impenetrable barrier of guitars, the album cut was re-recorded to feature a solo by legendary MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine.
"I've been a huge MEGADETH fan for years," explains Static. "We've toured with them twice. Mustaine and I really hit it off on the road. His lead style is one of the most distinctive styles out there. There's something amazing about it. When you hear him solo, you know it's him."
"Cult of Static" track listing:
01. Lunatic (feat. Dave Mustaine)
02. Z28
03. Terminal
04. Hypure
05. Tera-Fied
06. Stingwray
07. You Am I
08. Isolaytore
09. Nocturnally
10. Skinned
11. Grind 2 Halt
STATIC-X spoke with Ryan Manno of Chicago's Q101.1 FM from the Staples Center in Los Angeles ahead of this year's Grammy Awards, which was held on February 8. Regarding the band's upcoming album, "Cult of Static", guitarist/vocalist Wayne Static stated, "[It is] just as heavy as our last record, 'Cannibal'. But there's a lot more depth to it... It's very epic for us. Normally our songs last about two-and-a-half minutes, and there's five- and six-minute songs on this record. You can really chill out to this and have a great time. There's parts that are really super heavy and shreddy, and there's parts that are moody and dark." Watch the chat below.
STATIC-X is tentatively scheduled to take part in this year's Snocore tour alongside SALIVA and other yet-to-be-announced acts.

Paramore's Hayley Williams Has Food On The Brain
Frontwoman reveals a working title for one of the band's new songs: 'Sumo Sandwich.'
By James Montgomery
Paramore have a list of priorities — demoing their new record, rehearsing for their upcoming tour with No Doubt and, uh, finding something to eat.
In a blog post on the band's official site, frontwoman Hayley Williams writes about the progress of all three ... with a special focus on the status of Paramore's much-anticipated new album and her gustatory struggles.
"We decided not to go to our practice space today. Each of us are at our respective homes writing our own stuff to bring to practice tomorrow. Doubtful we'll all be successful," she wrote. "I'm still finishing lyrics to some of the music demos we've already recorded. Some perdy good shtuff here!
"I'm stuck here at home," she continued. "There's nothing to eat here but one pack of ramen. No, really."
Cue the Fueled By Ramen puns. Since the beginning of the year, Williams and Paramore have been working on the follow-up to Riot! in their home state of Tennessee. They've been keeping fans updated on their progress via photos on their site (and the occasional blog), which show them rehearsing new tunes.
In one post, Williams refers to one new song as carrying the working title "Sumo Sandwich" (she really does have food on the brain).
The stated plan is to record the new album in Nashville, though it's not known just who will produce it. A spokesperson for Fueled By Ramen/ Atlantic Records told MTV News that the band intend to have the new album in stores after they wrap their tour with No Doubt, which kicks off in May.
My Chemical Romance Album Won't Be A 'Kitchen Sink' Affair
By James Montgomery, with reporting by Matt Elias
There was a time, long before the multiplatinum records and the pancake makeup, before the Eisner Award-winning comics or the Dylan cover in the "Watchmen" film, when My Chemical Romance were just another band from New Jersey. They would like very much to get back to that time.
So that's goal number one with their new album — the follow-up to the massively successful, massively ambitious Welcome to the Black Parade — which they're currently writing in Los Angeles. They hope to get back to their roots — to make manic, fast-and-furious, spur-of-the-moment punk. And, above all, to keep it simple.
"When we had just finished Black Parade, I think doing that record made us feel like we could do everything. And so I think the way to top a record that already kind of does everything is to not do everything," MCR frontman Gerard Way smiled. "I don't think this is gonna be a 'kitchen sink' record. I think it's going to get by on its musicianship and its own merits in the songs.
"And every record ... I like to think they're snapshots of what your band is at that moment, and this is really going to be that. I think there's going to be lack of concept, I think it's simply a snapshot, I think it's going to be direct and very honest," he continued. "It's not going to be hiding behind a veil of fiction or uniforms and makeup anymore. ... From the stuff we've been playing so far, just feels very pure. That's the best way to describe it. People who were really big fans of our first record, they'll find things they're really going to love about the new material — and not because we sound like that first record at all, it's because there's a purity to it. There's less happening."
It's a tactic they first learned while recording their version of Dylan's "Desolation Row" for Zack Snyder's upcoming "Watchmen" film: Stop thinking and just get busy rocking.
"From working on 'Desolation Row' ... I think it was very natural. We just kind of did stuff and the song was there. There was no over-thinking," Way explained. "[But, having said that] we're not going to make a retro record at all. It will sound like a modern rock record, but I think we would like to try to redefine that, what that actually means. By saying it sounds like a modern rock record, it'll sound new — I don't think it'll sound like what's on the radio right now."
And to that point, though it may sound like MCR are trying hard to strip away the rather, uh, grandiose leanings of The Black Parade, they've still got the swagger of a band that's moved units and toured the globe. They've been surveying the musical landscape that's appeared in their absence, and they're not very pleased by what they see. Take, for example, the (working) title of one of their new songs: "New Hair, Same Sh--."
"It's about having new hair, but it's the same sh--. That's the concept," Way laughed. "I think the new album is going to be a response to the two years of touring on Parade. A reaction to what's happening right now — everything that we're not a part of — and a response to it."

Silverchair - After All These Years
That crushed a tired sunrise
Born again the day brings young naivety
A laptop souvenir is worth it's weight
In silver a golden son
You'll be home again
And I'll be home again
Mend in my sleep
I'm boxing under water
Waddle on the wake
Waking on a summer day
After all these years
Forget about the troubled times
After all these years
Forget about the troubled times
And every fathers pain
Casts a shadow over a broken son
You'll be whole again
And I'll be whole again
Munificent, artless and ascetic
Playing like a scared
Enthusiastic pawn
After all these years
Forget about the troubled times
After all these years
Forget about the troubled times
All those years
I was hurting to feel
Something more than life
Silverchair - My Favorite Thing
and i know the
sounds remaining wont strain all the silt form my eyes
bleach the green from the pastures, feast on the grey
of teh night straight from the vines refusal to shine
your me favorite thing the one that i love
your the one so id die for your love
Blind the deafened moon stimulate the tombs of angels
ill open my heart wont fall apart
dont fall apart
your my favorite thing
and i feel like letting go...
Silverchair - Lever
Don't you feel a little weak?
And I'd catch you when you fall
But you're falling all the time
Do you need it anymore?
Or do you need a little more?
Living your life like a bull in the trade
He doesn't know how it feels
Under my thumb like a bone under nail
She's in the know, how's it feel?
Live your life under machine guns
Canary down the mine
Maybe I'm on the lever
Spoiling my broth like a radio kid
Programmed computerised minds
Waving my luck under your nose
Like I found a four leaf clover
Silverchair - Too Much of Not Enough
that I'd dug in the soil to be part
of a human garden
And I couldn't stand
in the straight postured sun
But you stood in the mud
which came unsoiled
When I came along, when I came along
when I came along
So you never stop needing
You never stop needing
A close look at something so close - it's too much of not enough
A close look at something so close - it's too much of not enough
When all we need is just a taste
I strapped myself in
for a safe saccharide
Before it started I tried
To be anything I saw fit
And it all seemed to fit
but you came undone
When I came along, when I came along
when I came along
So you never stop needing
You never stop needing
A close look at something so close - it's too much of not enough
A close look at something so close - it's too much of not enough
When all we need is just a taste
Blind white lies and shallow truth
Broken strings and stolen youth
I've seen too much of not enough
But you came much closer then they had before
You came much closer then they had before
You came much closer then they had before...
You never stop needing
You never stop needing
You never stop needing
And it's good for nothing...
Silverchair - Tuna in the Brine
when everyone's heart seems so calm
And you found the lock to my dorm and opened the doors to my trust
Fund my vestry
The light in my darkest hour is fear
Denies me of anything good so
Don't lose your heart you'll need it
And don't lose your heart you'll have to
Take another pill and tell another lie
And lie amongst your lies like tuna in the brine
Take everything that you're not
and don't be so scared to tamper (temper) with (temper)
"tampered with" evidence (tamper)
Coz you'll come along for the sun if you come at all
The light in my darkest hour is fear
Denies me of anything good so
don't lose your heart you'll need it
And don't lose your heart you'll have to
lie amongst your lies like tuna in the brine
And don't lose your heart
Don't lose your - don't lose your heart
To lose your heart you'll have to...
Take... take... take...
Painting a lie seeing the colours but you seem closer to everything
Closer now than we ever have been
We're closer now that we ever should (we) be
Closer now than we've ever been before
Closer to everything
Busking for change and changing everything
Feeble fables aren't changing many things
It's my time to shine like a tuna in the brine
For my pregnant paws aren't changing anything...
To all of the animals who
keep sipping the sweat from my back,
You're making me ill and I can't get enough
So take another pill and tell another lie
And lie amongst your lies like tuna in the brine
Silverchair - One Way Mule
Let my spirit ride on a one way mule
Blistered skin in a cold hearted room
Distant demotion on a concrete wall
Naked naked
I'll climb right back to you
CHORUS
Love me for my mind
'coz im a dangerous heart
and I've got time to kill
I'm coming back to you
Distant demotion on a concrete wall
BRIDGE
Do you feel
Do you feel
Do you need
CHORUS
Love me for my mind
'coz I'm a dangerous heart
And I've got time to kill
I'm coming back to you
Do you love me for my mind
'coz I'm a dangerous heart
And I've got time to kill
I'm coming back to you
Patient, we're all asleep in some danger
RUN MY WAY GO
CHORUS
Love me for my mind
'coz im a dangerous heart
And I've got time to kill
I'm coming back to you
Do you love me for my mind
'coz I'm a dangerous heart
And I've got time to kill
I'm coming back to you
Silverchair - World Upon Your Shoulders
won't save you
If there is no other side
to cross to
When you're world's not feeling ugly
and the world's not too much
Take the world upon your shoulders
Take the world upon your shoulders
And burn, burn, burn, burn, burn
Take the world upon your shoulders
Half full glasses
Lost in empty houses
When you're world's not feeling ugly
and the world's not too much
Take the world upon your shoulders
Take the world upon your shoulders
And burn, burn, burn, burn, burn
Take the world upon your shoulders
Violent, big and violent
Like a thing that's big, big
and violent
When you're world's not feeling ugly
and the world's not too much
Take the world upon your shoulders
Take the world upon your shoulders
And burn, burn, burn, burn, burn
Take the world upon your shoulders
Take the world upon your shoulders
Silverchair - World Upon Your Shoulders
won't save you
If there is no other side
to cross to
When you're world's not feeling ugly
and the world's not too much
Take the world upon your shoulders
Take the world upon your shoulders
And burn, burn, burn, burn, burn
Take the world upon your shoulders
Half full glasses
Lost in empty houses
When you're world's not feeling ugly
and the world's not too much
Take the world upon your shoulders
Take the world upon your shoulders
And burn, burn, burn, burn, burn
Take the world upon your shoulders
Violent, big and violent
Like a thing that's big, big
and violent
When you're world's not feeling ugly
and the world's not too much
Take the world upon your shoulders
Take the world upon your shoulders
And burn, burn, burn, burn, burn
Take the world upon your shoulders
Take the world upon your shoulders
Silverchair - Without You
There's hopeless smiles brighter than mine
And I need for you to come and go
Without the truth falling out
Old incisions refusing to stay
Like the sun through the trees on a cloudy day
And you brighten my life like a polystyrene hat
But it melts in the sun like a life without love
And I've waited for you so i'll keep crying out
Without you...
Without you...
Telephone
Socially scared and impaired
If the trees will bloom the wind can blow
Without the fruit falling out
Feels like the wind blows
Holding you with us
She takes no other
Falls light and ashes
Blooming like winter
Silverchair - The Greatest View
The fungus in my milk
When you want no one
And you got someone
Through the wind
You crawl
And laugh at burning dunes
When no one else will
Ever see
Now that you know why you feel like you do
They're turning their head whilst they wait
For no one
And finally I know why you feel like letting go
I'm watching you watch
Over me and I've got
The greatest view from here
I'm watching you watch
Over me and I've got
The greatest view from here
Mistakes don't mean a thing
If you don't regret them
So pack your tactic toes for the winter
Chain a waterfall to burned and withered skin
No-one else will ever see
I'm watching you watch
Over me and I've got
The greatest view from here
I'm watching you watch
Over me and I've got
The greatest view from here
Now that you know why you feel like you do
They're turning their head whilst they wait
For no one
And finally I know why I feel like you're letting go
I'm watching you watch
Over me and I've got
The greatest view from here
I'm watching you watch
Over me and I've got
The greatest view from here
The greatest view from here
The greatest view
Silverchair - Across the Night
It was the moon that stole my slumber
Across the night
I fell in love with people sleeping
And hugged a man's arthritic shoulder
I fell tired, asleep in a golden ocean
Your eyes perspired, a spike in my fascination
I don't mean to make you cry
But this feeling will run right through the night
And I'll only make you cry with these feelings
Sleepless, untamed without a leash on the light around me
So let us be married and have another baby
Coz I don't wanna be lonely I just wanna be alone
Yes let's just get married shouting baby, baby, babies
"You'll never sleep at all"
But I don't wanna be lonely
Never seen the sunshine
From higher points than sunrise
Saliva - No Hard Feelings
And all the shame surrounding you.
And all the past that I can't kill, forever wrapped around me.
And all the sadness in our lives, and all the things I can't hide.
And all the fear that's deep inside, from all the years of hiding.
There's a ghost that's inside of my mind.
There's a pain that is haunting me still, and I could never go back and rewind.
And I could never have peace or be still.
Somebody take this away
Somebody take this away
Somebody take this away
Somebody take this away, they took you far away from me.
So I could never find you.
They made me blind but I could see, the loaded gun from behind you.
The end of everything we knew, inside of me and inside you.
I miss the way we used to be.
When I was what would bring you through.
There's a ghost that's inside of my mind.
There's a pain that is haunting me still, and I could never go back and rewind.
And I could never have peace or be still.
Somebody take this away
Somebody take this away
Somebody take this away
SOMEBOODY TAKE THIS
No Hard feelings
No Hard feelings
No Hard feelings
NO Hard feelings
No Hard feelings
No Hard feelings
Somebody take this away
Somebody take this away
Somebody take this away
SOMEBODY TAKE THIS!!!
Saliva - Carry On
I chipped away to find out, that there was nothing here.
Nothin' like I thought.
I learned that lesson slowly, over seven years I threw away.
Giving you my total attention.
While I was finding you I lost my way.
Sinking like a stone, cutting to the bone.
How can I be safe, or find my way back home.
'Cause you have been erased, I'd rather be alone.
You best be on your way so I can carry on.
You stuck your blade within me.
Cold metal and steel sinking through my bones.
But you have resurrected, everything I couldn't feel and I thought was gone.
Sinking like a stone, cutting to the bone.
How can I be safe, or find my way back home.
'Cause you have been erased, I'd rather be alone.
You best be on your way so I can carry on.
Sinking like a stone, cutting to the bone.
How can I be safe, or find my way back home.
'Cause you have been erased, I'd rather be alone.
You best be on your way so I can carry on.
Saliva - I Want You
Not like the other ones, not like the other ones.
But now I think I see things pretty clear.
Just like the other ones, just like the other ones.
But I want you, I need you.
That one that makes me feel alive.
I want you, I need you.
I feel like I've wasted all my time.
I feel like I've died and gone to hell.
Just like the other ones, just like the other ones.
There's no more excuses you can sell.
I hope you had your fun, but I'm not the only one.
But I want you, I need you.
That one that makes me feel alive.
I want you, I need you.
I feel like I've wasted all my time.
But I want you, I need you.
That one that makes me feel alive.
I want you, I need you.
I feel like I've wasted all my time.
Saliva - F**K ALL YALL!!!
Here's a little story that's oh so oh so true, about the fame and the money and the lawyers too.
There's just one thing I'll say to you
...if you're fucking me, I'm gonna fuck with you.
Since all my money you're chasing, I'll find a steady replacement.
Fuckin' me must've been entertainment.
Nobody move,nobody gets burned
Nobody move,nobody gets burned
Nobody move,nobody gets burned
Nobody move,nobody gets burned
Here's to all the fucking lies you told, about a rabbit in a hat that's running for the hole.
Here's to all the fucking money you made, so take your nickel back and default the rest of your take.
There's just one thing I'll say to you
If you're fuckin me, im gonna fuck you too
Since all my money you're chasing, I'll find a steady replacement.
Fuckin you is gonna be entertainment
Nobody move,nobody gets burned
Nobody move,nobody gets burned
Nobody move,nobody gets burned
Nobody move,nobody gets burned
Nobody move,nobody gets burned
Nobody move,nobody gets burned,burned
Nobody move,nobody gets burned
Nobody move, nobody gets burned, burned
Nobody move, nobody gets burned
Nobody move, nobody gets burned, burned
Nobody move, nobody gets burned
Nobody move, nobody gets burned, burned
Cuss what goes around is coming back around
So.. F**K ALL YALL!!!
Saliva - Open Eyes
And now I'm standin' here alone.
And all the truth that I've been told, begins to perfectly unfold.
And was it wasted time and was it all for nothing.
And I can face the pain of bein' alone for the first time in my life.
I open up my eyes, I feel like I could fly away, 'Til I reach the other side.
Sometimes we must decide, that everything that was meant to be will be.
And I don't even have to try.
It was as simple as a song, it was inside me all along.
If it's the truth that makes me wrong, then I would rather be alone.
You said I crossed the line, you said I pulled you under.
I finally realized I can be strong for...
The first time of my life
I open up my eyes, I feel like I could fly away, 'Til I reach the other side.
Sometimes we must decide, that everything that was meant to be will be.
And I don't even have to try.
I open up my eyes, I feel like I could fly away, 'Til I reach the other side.
Sometimes we must decide, that everything that was meant to be will be.
And I don't even have to try.
And I dont even have to try
And I dont even have to try
And I dont even have to try
And I dont even have to try
Saliva - Two Steps Back
I see the price of everything I ever said.
I feel the break in every rule I've ever bent.
And I hear the sound of all the voices in my head.
Fallin' away, takin' the fall, can't even find no peace at all.
Will we ever change, no taking it back, one step foward two steps back.
Fallin' away, takin' the fall, can't even find no peace at all.
Will we ever change, no taking it back, one step foward two steps back.
I've seen all the falling buildings on the Tv hotel bed.
I've seen mother's babies risk their lives for a waving flag.
And I heard the Dixie Chickens run their mouths in a foreign land.
And then try to take back everything they ever said
Fallin' away, takin' the fall, can't even find no peace at all.
Will we ever change, no taking it back, one step foward two steps back.
Fallin' away, takin' the fall, can't even find no peace at all.
Will we ever change, no taking it back, one step foward two steps back.
Will someone please take this away.
You better watch everything that you say.
Because it's gonna come back to you.
I see the end of every book we've ever read
I see the price fo everything you've ever said
And i feel the break in every rule we'ver ever bent
And i still hear the sound of all the voices in my head
Fallin' away, takin' the fall, can't even find no peace at all.
Will we ever change, no taking it back, one step foward two steps back.
Fallin' away, takin' the fall, can't even find no peace at all.
Will we ever change, no taking it back, one step foward two steps back.
Were falling two steps back.
Were faling two steps back.
Saliva - No Regrets, Vol. 2
And all the shame surrounding you, is now the past that I can't kill.
Forever wrapped around me.
And all the sadness was your life, are now the things that I can't hide.
It's just a fear that's deep inside, from all the years of hiding.
There's a ghost that's inside of my mind, and a pain is still haunting me.
So I can never go back and rewind.
And I can never have peace or be still.
Somebody take this away.
But I have lived for you, and every single little thing you do.
But I have lived for you, and I won't kill myself for loving you.
They took you far away from me, so I could never find you.
They made me blind but I can see, the loaded gun behind you.
The end of all that this boy knew, inside of me was the inside of you.
I miss the way we used to be, when I was what would bring you through.
Because I have lived for you, and every little thing you do.
But I can't rise above your lies, that you have gladly made your life.
And I won't kill myself for loving you.
Saliva - Survival of the Sickest
I'm the hand up Mona Lisa's dress,
I'm the smile on every criminal you'll ever acquit.
I'm the things you've done you'll never admit.
'Cause one hand is on the bible and the others in shit.
Right now, your face is in the crowd, I'm shouting out loud, the one you counted out of the game.
Oh wow, take a good look at me now, should have never had a doubt, is that you I hear screaming my name.
I'm a roller, I'm a rider, number one motherfuckin' survivor.
So move over, I'm the driver, and I'm high and I'm gonna keep getting higher, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm the one you thought that you could erase, but a predator that's faster than the food that he chased.
When you fall off the horse you brought to the race, I'll be the one who's flying by you kickin' shit in your face.
Im a roller babe, motherfuckin rider babe,Im a roller babe, im a rider babe
Ease down, and wrap your legs around me babe.
Move over baby, get on your knees. I'm gonna drive this little red love machine.
I'm a roller, I'm a rider, number one motherfuckin' survivor.
So move over, I'm the driver, and I'm high and I'm gonna keep getting higher, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, Yeah , Yeah
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
Oh Yeah
Saliva - Bait & Switch
Back in the day, I dedicated my life to becoming a bit rock 'n roll star.
I began to change, and I rearranged my life.
So I could buy a big rock 'n roll car.
All of this, all of this, all of this looks so easy.
But all of this, all of this, all of this ain't so easy.
What in the hell am I fighting for.
And what in the hell am I trying to prove.
Saturday, I wipe the sleep away and played in front of thirty thousand plus.
Sunday, I wake up between two girls who are coughin''Coz we got a smokey bus.
All of this, all of this, all of this looks so easy.
But all of this, all of this, all of this can get cheesy.
What in the hell am I fighting for.
And what in the hell am I trying to prove.
What in the hell am I fighting for.
I'm destined to win or born to lose.

Saliva - Razor's Edge
How could it have come to this?
So hard to pick the right from the wrong.
I can't try to hide behind myself anymore.
I can't try to reason with the pain and misfortune.
So I will grab hold to forever and walk right through this open door.
Walking on the lonely road, the heartbreaking pain at my side.
Without two arms to hold me, nothing but the chain of goodbyes.
I can't try to hide behind myself anymore.
I can't try to reason with the pain and the torture.
So I will grab hold to forever and walk right through this open door.
I can't try to hide behind myself anymore.
I can't try to reason with the pain and misfortune.
So I will grab hold to forever and walk right through this open door.
I can't try to hide behind myself anymore.
I can't try to reason with the pain and the torture.
So I will grab hold to forever and walk right through this open door.
Walking on Razor's edge, so hard for me to find my way home.
Saliva - One Night Only
Aways wanted to be president, I always wanted to be Superman.
I ended up a fuckin' superstar.
I'm better off than either one of them.
I wanna take you to a higher place.
Say all the things that you could never say.
I'll even help you try to make a change.
Before the whole world blows up in your face.
Come inside for a moment.
Come inside for a moment.
I'm the voice inside of you, that says there's nothing you can't do.
If you could open up your eyes and lay your heart out on the line.
I'm the voice inside your head, that brings your mind back from the dead.
I hope that I have served you right, even if only for one night.
I'm not religious or fanatical, but I'm a motherfuckin' miracle
You knock me down and I get up again.
So hit the lights out and let the show begin.
I'm the voice inside of you, that says there's nothing you can't do.
If you could open up your eyes and lay your heart out on the line.
I'm the voice inside your head, that brings your mind back from the dead.
I hope that I have served you right, even if only for one night.
Saliva - Rock & Roll Revolution
You music business whores are all about just getting paid.
You throw your shit against the wall and see it doesn't stick.
Been tired of standin' round and watchin' while you make me sick.
You hide and choke on all the issues of your time.
You'll never save the world if all you do is whine.
To tell the truth I think it's best you step aside.
'Cause real rock 'n roll ain't never gonna die.
So I say hell yeah.
The Rock 'n Roll Revolution.
There ain't no confusion baby.
And I'm not gonna take your shit anymore.
You're not an artist, you're a whore.
Straight up, stripped down, turned up, kick ass rock 'n roll.
It's the only thing that's still around that's gonna save our soul.
So get down on your knees and pray to the gods of old.
'Cause rock 'n roll's a revolution and it's taking hold.

Limp Bizkit Reuniting For Tour, Album

Nine Inch Nails To Tour With Jane's Addiction
Although he stopped short of saying the band was going on something more than a hiatus, Reznor confirmed these will be the last NIN shows for some time, and that they will be "much more raw, spontaneous and less scripted" compared to last year's "Lights in the Sky" tour. "It's time to make NIN disappear for a while," he said.
Dates have not yet been announced, but Reznor says the tour will take the bands "across the globe."
The pairing with Jane's Addiction was inspired by NIN's stint on the maiden Lollapalooza tour in 1991, which was headlined by Jane's. The band broke up for the first time shortly thereafter, only to reunite minus original bassist Eric Avery in 1997 and again in 2001.
"These performances essentially created and defined the term 'alternative' rock in the U.S., created an ongoing festival franchise that is still thriving (Lollapalooza), set the stage for Nirvana to shift popular taste a few months later, and were really f*cking FUN to play and attend -- truly the best times I've had," Reznor wrote.
Of late, Reznor has been in the studio with Jane's, which has played a handful of intimate L.A. club shows in the past few months with Avery, but has yet to announce a full-scale reunion tour. In fact, the band is playing tonight (Feb. 16) at the Echoplex. The intent of the studio sessions is unclear from his post.
"Emails were sent, phone calls were made, dinner was arranged, ideas were discussed and the next thing I know we're in the studio experimenting," he wrote. "We laugh, we get to know each other, we cry, we yell, we almost quit, we record LOTS of guitar solos, we discuss, we actually begin to all communicate, we yell some more, we become FRIENDS, we laugh again and we do some great things. I get to see first-hand why they broke up all those years ago but I also get the chance to see four distinct personalities that become an INCREDIBLE band when they're in the same room."

Green Day's New Album, 21st Century Breakdown, Due In May
Long-awaited album's title is subtly announced at Grammy Awards.
By James Montgomery mtv.com
The news came with little fanfare: As GD took the stage to present the night's final award, Album of the Year, the in-house announcer simply proclaimed that their long-awaited follow-up to 2004's American Idiot would be called 21st Century Breakdown. The band didn't mention it at all, instead reading off the list of nominees, then handing the AOTY award to Alison Krauss and Robert Plant.
Later — perhaps because people missed it — Green Day re-announced the info on their fan club and their official site, and added that 21st Century Breakdown would be coming this May. The album is already available for pre-order through GreenDay.com.
Very little is known about Breakdown, aside from the fact that it's being produced by Butch Vig and that, in a November interview with Alternative Press, it was revealed that it's broken down into three acts — "Heroes and Cons," "Charlatans and Saints" and "Horseshoes and Handgrenades" — and will feature 16 songs, with titles like "Viva la Gloria," "Before the Lobotomy" and "Christian's Inferno."
It's also been reported that Green Day have been working on the album since at least 2006 — calling it, at various times "a cool project" and "an event." They've also kept busy with myriad side projects, including frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's gigs with Pinhead Gunpowder and the band's stint masquerading as the Foxboro Hot Tubs.

Shadows Fall - Those Who Cannot Speak
The sound reflected unable to escape
Desperate to connect
Lashing out at words that fail to appear
Bound in silence
The failure of sound (never learned)
Instinct urges on
As the mind creates its own obstacles
Waging internal war
Between the objects and the abstract
Eloquence of the inner voice
The poetry of the condemned
A stream of consciousness
Never to be understood
Shadows Fall - Eternity Is Within
A death wish has been ingrained.
Almost with our first breath,
We are taught to expect our last.
Science has done its best to choke off
The true instincts of mankind
Death is impatient and thoughtless
Mortality is a disease of the mind
Embrace the gifts before you.
Paradise is underfoot
Eternity is within.
Lost site of the bounty before us
Boundless resource of pleasure and pleny
Living for an intangible
In a future clouded with doubt.
One step forward is one step deeper into the grave
Breath... breath of life.
Shadows Fall - Ghosts Of Past Failures
Facing the reality
Of our own imperfections
The waves crash without warning
Overwhelmed and short of breath
Never able to escape
The bloodstans upon your hands
I AM! Still bleeding you
From wounds you've never known.
I AM! Still bleeding you
From wounds you've never known.
The core of our being
Torn out and cast aside
I never looked this far away
Never saw what lies agead
I the midst of false comfort
The scars were hidden but never healed
Shadows Fall - The Power Of I and
we are givin
all of the light
and purity of the universe
we are ones
who will create
the snarling beasts of human nature
the world within myself
ALL IS ONE
the power of I and I
True piece of mind
Is not bestowed
upon us by the heavens
hiding the purity that flows
from the root of which we rose
ALL IS ONE
Shadows Fall - Inspiration On Demand
Have all of the words escaped?
Inspiration on demand
Emotions all displaced
'And i will wander endlessly
Seeking all the answers the I let slip
through my fingers.
I will wander endlessly
Seeking all the answers that
I let slip and fall away.'
Turn it all around
It melts into sound
(Unfolding...ever growing)
Torn from my rest
Though I still fight to stay.
The images dissolve
As the day invades
A second to react
The mind too slow to act
(Unfolding...ever growing)
A vicious thirst to know
The answers dreams may hold
(Unfolding...ever growing)
Drown the voices of restraint
Make them choke to silence
Incinerate the ropes
And embrace the hope
(Unfolding...ever growing)
Splintering the doors
Free the mind to soar
(Unfolding...ever growing)
Turn it all around
It melts into sound
Shadows Fall - Stillness
Treasures of this world are fleeting
Our eyes blinded from the gift
Within the way there lies the meaning
All natures are pure
All apperances are empty.
Shrouded in sensation and delusion
Consumed within the unknowns
Shrouded in sensation and delusion
All iwll collapse and fall
All wisdom is tresured
All wealth is a shadow
Inexspressible in words
Embrace the stillness
Endless source, Eternal bliss
Absence of the mind is liberation.
Shadows Fall - What Drives The Weak
controled dose of tranquility
forgetfullness washes over me
put to rest the voices of insanity
only the cinders remain
as another night
becomes a yesterday
COME ON! anesthetize the panic
it is what drives the weak
YOU'RE GONE! anesthetize the panic
putting all uncertainties to sleep
not an altered state of mind
but a safer place in an unsafe world
within the nearness of death
rapture in the skip of a heartbeat.
Shadows Fall - Enlightened By The Cold
The War Within
Enlightened By The Cold
When you never know
Is when it's always there,
It seemed so clear...
The slightest tough
To catch the breath,
It turns all around
Single path that i can see,
Emptiness devours me.
Enlightened by the cold
It overcomes the torment
(What if i could bring you back?)
Enlightened by the cold
Enough to burn through walls
Built on anguish
Can I be revived?
Let it hit with force
Strong enough to blind,
The numbness heals.
My worth is only defined
by the next disaster
Sevendust - Face to Face
That you're lost...down and out
When there was nothing left in me
You can't stop fuckin' with my head
Stop fuckin' with my head
My silence you break
The smile that you fake (you fake)
[Chorus:]
There's not one thing that you can say to make it right
Unless you say "I'm leavin"
And if you're not...then please tell me why
Please tell me why you can't
Save face
Say it to my face
Can I take all the filth in your head
All the words that you said (that you said)
And throw it away (throw it out)
You can't stop fuckin' with my head
Stop fuckin' with my head
My silence you break
The smile that you take away
[Chorus:]
There's not one thing that you can say to make it right
Unless you say "I'm leavin"
And if you're not...then please tell me why
Sevendust - Gone
To kill another place I've never been
Another day in hell
Another day in a crowded room...another place
To bleed...another world that your blind to
That I've already seen
[Chorus:]
When I'm gone
Don't fill the space that still belongs to me
When I'm gone...say hello for me
When I'm gone
Think about what all this does to me
When I'm gone...say hello for me
Another piece of me is dead...and I'm
Afraid of the blind...leading the blind until
Was this all for something...that I give for
Nothin...stop with the fake delivery
Stuck in the middle I'm gone
[Chorus:]
When I'm gone
Don't fill the space that still belongs to me
When I'm gone...say hello for me
When I'm gone
Think about what all this does to me
When I'm gone...say hello for me
Sevendust - Suffocate
And the sins that bleed from my soul
Take it all away make it
Go away
[BRIDGE]
Stand up for bein' the last one to control
(But) what you can't see is bein' the last one to know
[Repeat]
[CHORUS:]
Fade into a dream
Try and save me from myself now
Save me from myself now
Fallen from the world
If I could ever breathe in the
Air maybe then I wouldn't suffocate
Face all the things that were
Real to me long ago to save my
Name I never thought it would
Be such a long way to fall
[BRIDGE]
[CHORUS]
Sevendust - Burned Out
You always come around - when my will is broken
And I can bearly stand on my two feet
Was it something, I said - that you can't forget
But you know it's something you need - to make it
All work out - But the fact still remains that
You can never take back what you say - But
I take back everything
I feel so empty - why'd you do this now
When all the color left in my face is
Fading out
I won't ride that evil suicide wave
No matter what you hear me say
[CHORUS:]
Why does it feel
Like the sun is just burned out
Why does it feel
Like everyone waiting for us
To crumble and just break down
Where's that helping hand
That you pull away
Everything I'm in the back of the line
If I start to fall out - on the last mile
Just wash the blood off my face
I feel so empty - why'd you do this now
The viscous circle of life - tears me up all inside
Sevendust - Disgrace
Descend down and break away
Til it was gone
My every thought stuck inside
The hell that reminds me that I've just
Given up
Weighing down my soul the thought of it's
To much when I think about it all
[CHORUS:]
Can I still find a place where my mind stops all the suffering
Will I live in my disgrace on and on
And I know now all I ever wanted
Was peace inside a mind that's always haunted
Where's my sunshine, where's the repair for all the damage
I've done
Weighing down my soul the thought of it's
To much when I think about it all
[CHORUS - (twice)]
Can I still find a place where my mind stops all the suffering
Will I live my disgrace on and on
Sevendust - Skeleton song
I'll stay right here with all these familiar faces
And shut-out everyone else from the world we created
Instead of becoming the sick and twisted
I'll lose myself in a song again
[CHORUS:]
And There's nothing wrong
In being far from right
Another skeleton song
Stuck in my head all night
And there's something wrong
When everything goes right
Another skeleton song
Will save my life tonight
[Verse 2:]
Was it that hard - to open the door to faith
When everyone feels the same
A different face but on the same page
And I don't need something - that hurts more than nothing
So I lose myself in a song again
[CHORUS:]
And There's nothing wrong
In being far from right
Another skeleton song
Stuck in my head all night
And there's something wrong
When everything goes right
Another skeleton song
Will save my life tonight
[Bridge:]
So I try my best to see
How you can relate to so much grief
Never stop forgetting why you came to be here
Everybody seems to be- crying themselves to sleep
Wake up for me and find another place to go
[CHORUS:]
And There's nothing wrong
In being far from right
Another skeleton song
Stuck in my head all night
And there's something wrong
When everything goes right
Another skeleton song
Will save my life tonight
[repeat chorus till fade]
Sevendust - Honesty
But it can never be the same again
I'm left with nothing
But the memory of the way you used to feel
I guess you finally took the deepest cut
I guess the blade on my tongue was just too much
Every word that I said came from my from my dark side
Now this emptiness is real
You reach beneath the surface more..
So go and leave me with my last regret
Let me feel the way you left me dead
Too blind to see
You stole my honesty
I think about the time we've lost
I think about the time
The silence could be words
And now the only sound I hear
Is my guilty conscience
Screaming out your name
You reach beneath the surface more..
So go and leave me with my last regret
Let me feel the way you left me dead
Too blind to see
You stole my honesty
So go and leave me with my last regret
Let me feel the way you left me dead
Go away and steal my thoughts of Honesty
Take back everything I said
A new place for us to begin
Take back everything...
Take back everything...
Take back everything I said
So go and leave me with my last regret
Let me feel the way you left me dead
Too blind to see
You stole my honesty
So go and leave me with my last regret
Let me feel the way you left me dead
Go away and steal my thoughts of Honesty
Sevendust - Separate
The one and only mistake
I don't mind the sound of your voice
But I hate the words that you say
That you say....
Could you Separate
Separate me from the sin
Is it not too late
To try and start again
Can you separate
All the darkness from my eyes
(Try to cover me
'Cause I'd rather be alone now)
Wash away the blood you spilled
And lay down in the bed that you made
(Don't mean nothin
Don't mean nothin to me)
There's nothing I could do
Nothing I could say
To pull you away
To Pull you away
Could you Separate
Separate me from the sin
Sevendust - Broken Down
To heal the wound I've made along the way
If I'm blind
Open my eyes 'cause I need to see again
If I can feel again
Will you tell me now
Or wait til I'm broken down again
Save me now
I'm broken
If I bleed
My lies won't fill the emptiness inside
I just need
For something real to open up my mind
Breaking down
I'm breaking down
Breaking down
I'm breaking down
It takes time
If I can feel again
Will you tell me now
Or wait til I'm broken down again
